As summer approaches, I am taking the opportunity to talk about switching up your beauty products for the new season! Warmer weather calls for a switcharoo in our beauty routines…for example, heavy foundations and layers of face products we use during the Winter months wont stand up to Summer heat. Ya need to switch it up girl! Below I am sharing some of my favorites (old and new) for the warmer months ahead.

SKIN: is there anything worse than those first few weeks of baring your stark white winter skin? No, the answer is NO. Unfortunately, the days of tanning beds should be behind us so we must resort to other measures. This year I started using Saint Tropez self tanner and it has definitely lived up to the hype. There are so many kinds to choose from, but I went with the Bronzing Mousse and I definitely love it so far. One application is all you need for an immediate natural looking tan (it lasts about a week). While not required, I chose to purchase the applicator mitt. It’s inexpensive and helps to apply the product evenly while avoiding the “I use self-tanner” stained hands.

Elaborating on skin, let’s not forget your money maker…your face, not your bootay.  Summer calls for lightweight products so I try to stay away from heavy foundations for my everyday makeup.  A tried and true product that I LOVE is the IT Cosmetics “Your Skin But Better” CC Cream. It has SPF built in and provides coverage just as good as any lightweight liquid foundation. For reference, I use “Medium-Tan”.

A new love of mine is the Natural Face Palette from Too Faced. It comes with 2 bronzers, 2 blush colors, and 2 highlighters. For those of you who haven’t mastered the art of contour, you will be happy to learn it comes with a handy dandy booklet showing where to place the product for a natural contoured look. Oh yeah, it’s infused with coconut butter and pretty much smells like a beach vacation – add to cart.

HAIR: the season of beachy waves is upon us. Since chopping my locks a few months ago I have been using a salt spray almost daily. Salt spray gives your hair that amazing texture that can only be found by dunking our heads in the ocean…not convenient for our morning routine. I use a few different kinds but one of my faves is Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray . FUN FACT ON SALT SPRAY: while normally used for a wavy look, my hairdresser told me it can be used on straight hair too! Just give a spritz and a tousle for a little added oomph.

I try to use a product for frizz and well as to protect my hair from heat tools. Try this one for frizz, and this one for heat!

Just writing about these products has me excited to switch it up! You can shop all these products through the links above or the pictures; I’d love to know if you try something out, so comment below if you do!
